As the end of 2019 is in sight, don’t miss out on your chance to vote for what you’d like PPIE to fund at your school site next school year.  Please go to www.ppie.org and you’ll be able to vote for staff positions and programs you’d like to see PPIE fund next year, whether you have donated this year or not.  We’d love to get your feedback so please vote before the end of the year!

In other end of the year news, in conjunction with Giving Tuesday on December 3, PPIE will launch a Super Match campaign.  If you are looking for end of year giving opportunities, the Super Match campaign is a great way to maximize your giving.  All donations PPIE receives during the Super Match campaign will be matched by donations from local businesses and community members.  See our newest video about how your donation makes a difference for Pleasanton students.

Thanks for your great support in 2019!

Valley View Elementary Annual
Dinner with a Scientist
Wednesday January 22, 2020

Valley View Library

(5:15pm Check-in) 5:30pm-7:40pm

Is your child interested in science? Does your child love to conduct scientific experiments? Here is their opportunity to have dinner with a real scientist and perhaps spark their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers.

In the past, our scientists have included engineers, doctors, geologists, airline pilots, entomologists, and scientists from Clorox, Sandia, LLNL and NASA. We hope that this evening will give your child an opportunity to learn about the many different careers in science.

We will be ordering dinner and need an accurate count.  Participation in Dinner with a Scientist doubled since we began a decade ago.  We are asking for an optional $10.00 donation to cover the cost of food. If you are able to donate, we would very much appreciate your help.  No child will be excluded from this activity due to the lack of a donation.

Please reserve this date! If you would like your child to participate, please sign and return the permission form below by Friday, January 10, 2020.  If your child plans to participate, and you help chaperone that evening, please indicate below. Please remind your child to attend this event with respectful manners.

Thank you,

Mrs. Topalian and “Dinner with a Scientist” Coordinators
